The morning service at 10.30 am is the principal service of the week and is the better attended service. The early part includes a talk to the young children who then leave for their Infant Church. The theme of the morning service reflects the Christian Year. Our worship includes traditional hymns and the best of the more recent songs with music provided by our organist and Worship Group. The Infant Church joins in the first part of the morning service and then moves to one of the rooms in the Church Hall. The children follow a programme from Scripture Union's Sparklers which caters for 5 - 7 year olds. Everyone has a fun time and new children are most welcome. The older children and young people have a separate Arts and Drama Group which also meets in the Hall and includes some teaching. We also have a crèche which caters for children too young to join with the Infant Church. The evening service at 6.30 pm has a more reflective feel to it but follows a traditional pattern of hymns, prayers, readings and a sermon. All are welcome to stay for a cup of tea and a biscuit after each service.
Communion is normally celebrated in the morning service on the first Sunday and
in the evening service on the third Sunday of each month. From time to time there are other special services - see the news page for details. |
